The Golden Coin has been serving the Batavia, N.Y. area for all their clothing needs for nearly 40 years. This makes the Golden Coin the longest-running full-service Laundromat in the area.
First opened in 1973 by Conrad Sr. & Marie Gifford the Golden Coin started by offering bulk dry cleaning and coin-operated washers and dryers. Since these humble beginnings, the Golden Coin has expanded and developed its services further to meet all of its customer’s needs.
Today the Golden Coin is still family-run and operated by Conrad Gifford Jr. & Margaret Gifford. Currently, they offer those same washers and dryers, personal & bulk dry cleaning, tailoring, alterations, rug & towel rentals, and specialty cleaning including horse blankets, wedding dresses, stuffed animals, pillows, area rugs, seat covers, and upholstered items. If it’s made of fabric the Golden Coin can clean it.
Our work has earned us the right to be called the exclusive cleaners of the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center and the stars that play there every summer.
Going even further the Golden Coin has begun to answer their customers’ hungry stomachs. From April through October, you can find the Tiki Weenie stand open Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (weather permitting). You can satisfy your hunger by picking up a fresh grilled hot dog, hamburger, fresh-cut fries, or sausage with all the fixings. Either drive up, take a seat or order ahead.
